The Dedication To Go Beyond What Is Required

The Dedication To Go Beyond What Is Required.

Most of us have heard about the dedicated training regimes of Ronaldo, Messi, Pele, Ibrahimovic etc, yet we have never given recognition to young aspiring athletes putting in the work every day, behind closed doors, in pursuit of their dream.

We forget that behind every great success, there were years and years of foundation building through discipline to the grind.

Passion, being the motivator but discipline being the drive.

INSPO recently made a trip up to the Stag Ground in Nottinghamshire to support the premier division team of Kimberley Miners Welfare Football club. More specifically one of their players, namely Kai Moore, repping the Number 8 shirt.

The reason we wanted to watch Kai play football is not only to witness the talented young player doing what he does best, but also to see how Kai’s individual training off the pitch affected the way he goes about business whilst playing his chosen sport.

Kai takes his training off the pitch through his own disposition and goes above and beyond what is required for his football. Additional training which includes; long distance running, ultramarathons, weightlifting and strength and conditioning. All for the benefit of improving his overall physique for football but also to better oneself through the process of intense training and pushing one’s body above the limits to find new levels.

The reason we highlight Kai’s vigorous training regimes is because there is a greater purpose involved beyond the necessity to develop one’s physical prowess and that is the development on his mental strength.

There is no doubt that Kai has built from mental resilience, which will have a great impact on his entire life, not only in sport but also through to his personal attributes. This became evident during the football match, whereby despite his team conceding goals, Kai remained infused and kept his confidence levels high. which in turn has a positive effect on the rest of the players.

In moments of questionable decisions from the referee Kai was able to find reason in the decisions taken and did not allow them to affect his game nor determine his mood. As a result, Kai and the team pushed on and controlled most the of game with some very unfortunate near misses.

The resulting loss of the match was unjustified but as we all know, sometimes in sport things just do not go as planned, however we believe that with Kai in the locker room, confidence can be restored quickly, and Kimberley Miners FC will go valiantly into their next game.

The development of mental resilience takes a long time to build and can only built through hard things. This is where we discover who we trying to become. Pushing your body above what you believe it capable of doing will unlock the pathway to mental training and allow us to build stability under pressure and apply positive reasoning naturally and separate ourselves from those who let mood determine their future.

Kai demonstrates this well which is why we were thrilled to join the supporters of Kimberley Miners Welfare FC at the Stag Ground and witness one of the unsung warriors, as most dwell in the shadows, putting in the work, day by day unnoticed.

We will soon be back to support Kimberley Miners FC.

Inspired In Sport.
